LAW Day 2008 Essay Contest

An opportunity to earn cash and prizes offered to Students in the Law & Government Academy of Atlantic High School, Port Orange, Florida.

In conjunction with other Law Day 2008 activities at Atlantic High School (Law Day is May 1, 2008), Law & Government Academy students were invited to participate in an essay contest offered by the Volusia Association of Paralegals.  Cash awards for the best of the best!

This year, the American Bar Association has chosen the Law Day theme for 2008 as "THE RULE OF LAW." 

The members of the Volusia Association of Paralegals awarded three scholarships to students at Atlantic High School Academy of Law and Government.  Justin Ryden took First Place and $100; Maria Lima Took Second Place and $50; and Jeannetta-Anne Marco took third Place and $25.

In addition to the scholarships, VAP presented each studen with over $100 each in gift certificates to area restaurants. The following restaurants donated gift certificates: Maria Bonita, Carrabba's Italian Grill; Downwind Restaurant, Bob Evans, Steve's Famous Diner, Long Doggers; Booth's Bowery Restaurant; Olive Garden; FRESH; Cancun Lagoon; Port Orange Stakehouse; Panera Bread; and Applebees. 

Many thanks goes out to all the Restaurants who participated in this rewarding experience.
